what we offer
Can Volta is formed by a main building and three appartments: Finestró (6 or 7 occupants), Pessebre (4 or 5 occupants) and Molí (2 to 4 occupants). These facilities can be hired for individual, family or group occupancy.
Globally, our total capacity is for approximately 16 people.
The appartments are equipped with bedrooms, living room, bathroom and fully equipped kitchen. In winter heating is provided with wood burning stoves and electrical heaters.
Guests may choose to provide their own meals, or let us cook for them.
We have a large room for groups activities or seminars, with heating and air conditioning.
At Can Volta we offer:

– a setting for meditation retreats for people who are seeking a calm, silent environment.

what is there to to in Calabuig?
Apart from enjoying the peace and quiet of the rural setting, the magnificent beaches of L’Escala (17 kilometers away), Sant Martí d’Empúries (14 km) are just a short drive away.
If you prefer exploring the nearby mountain ranges (Garrotxa, Pyrinees, Albera) our location makes us an ideal base for day trips. We are 1.5 hours away from Prades de Conflent (Canigo).
Wildlife is also nearby – particularly wild fowl in the nearby Aiguamolls de l’Empordà and Cap de Cres natural parks.
The area also offers many culturally interesting visits: the Roman ruins at Empúries, the medieval village of Pals and the romanesque montasteries at Sant Pere de Rodes, Santa María de Vilabertran and Sant Quirze de Colera, just to name a few.
Another interesting options are the “Dali triangle” (the Theater-Museum in Figueres, the House-Museum in Portlligat and the Gala Castle in Púbol), the Toy and the Alt Empordà Museums in Figueres and the Cinema and the Jewish Culture Musems in Girona.
